Ruslan Malai is the new head of the Public Procurement Agency. Although the contest ended on April 28, the Minister of Finance signed the appointing order only today.

According to the press release from the ministry, Ruslan Malai is master in economics and law and has extensive experience in public acquisitions. He previously worked at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization at the Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, the United Nations Development Program, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova and received from them many recommendations for his activities.

In the past 4 years he actively participated in the public acquisitions training courses at the World Bank, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, the United Nations Development Program. In 2015 he became the Master in law (the public acquisitions policy).

His CV is not public.

We note that in early April, the Ministry of Finance announced a competition for the director of the Public Procurement Agency position.

There were 5 contestants: Ruslan Malai, Ghenadie Grib, Vadim Colibaverdi, Nicolae Ghilescu, Valentin Cebotari.

The new head of the Agency was presented to the team by the Minister Octavian Armasu and his deputy Yuri Cicibaba. The Minister said him that the main goal is to implement the Public Acquisitions reform.

The former head of the Public Procurement Agency Viorel Mosneaga left his position on March 21.
