The Ministry of Interior wants the Criminal Code to be amended in order to access the data in the computer systems and storage devices within searches. The arguments presented by the authorities is that more and more electronic devices are used for crimes.

If the proposal is accepted by the Government and then by the Parliament, the police will have access to computer systems and data storage devices.

However, they will have the possibility to withdraw objects or make copies, with the appropriate records in the minutes.

The project is on the agenda of the Government meeting today and is expected to be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
