An employee of the State Enterprise "Cadastru" was detained by the NAC officers and anticorruption prosecutors. The official is suspected of abuse of office by extortion and receiving 2800 euro.
According to the informer, the man, using his position, allegedly extorted and received 2800 euro from a commercial agent, to dismiss the failure in performing his job duties. According to a preliminary agreement with the businessman, the employee would not lodge an official appeal to the Court of Appeal, requesting a court decision on transmitting some goods into the businessman property.
Following the special investigative measures and criminal investigation, the suspect was arrested on the spot, when receiving the last installment of 500 Euro. Also, after the searches carried out at his residence, some other sums of money were identified, which were transmitted to the suspect under NAC’s supervision.
The public server was detained for 72 hours and informed on the accusations. A criminal case was initiated on his name fro “abuse of office or influence peddling”.
If found guilty, the man faces a prison sentence of 6 to 10 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or to practice certain activities for a period of 10 to 15 years.
Please note that other 5 employees of the SE “Cadastru” were arrested last week, being accused of swindle and the use of false documents.
