Head of Land Relations and Cadastre Service, also the secretary of the Special Committee for searching materials and applications of victims of political repression by the Council of District Rîşcani, has been detained by Internal Protection and Anti-Corruption Service of MIA officers and prosecutors of Office "Nord" of the Anti-Corruption Prosecution, being suspected in a corruption case.
The allegedly illegal actions of the suspet were expressed by extortion from several residents of Riscani, victims of political repressions, of funds in especially large amounts, to favor the receipt and payment of the compensation money, and in order to not minimize the compensation approved for payment, notifies the public relations service of the IPAS.
Thus, after special measures of investigation, it was determined that the suspect, was taking advantage of her service, claimed and received from each victim in part, through extortion amounts that varied between 30 and 50% of the total amount that would be allocated to the person.
Therefore, she would extorted and misappropriated approximately 42% of the total amount of MDL 581.767, allocated by the Ministry of Finance to the Rîşcani District Council, tor fhe purpose of paying compensation to victims of political repressions.
Being sent several amounts of money under the control of IPAS officers, the suspect has been apprehended in the act and its office searched. Being ultimately detained for a period of 72 hours and placed in isolation.
There was initiated a criminal case under Art. 324 par. (3) b) Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova (passive corruption), which provides imprisonment up to 15 years with a fine of up to 10.000 conventional units with the deprivation of the right to occupy certain public posts or practice certain activities for a period of 7-10 years.
