A policeman from the National Inspectorate of Investigation was arrested during a common operation of the operation of the NAD and IPAS for traffic of influence.
According the the informer the policeman demanded and received 55o euros, claiming he has influence over some employees of the Directorate for vehicle registration and drivers’ qualification of the „CRIS Registru" in order to pass smoothly the final exams and then get the subsequent release of the driving license of category "B".
Following the operations of the law enforcement authorities, the policeman was recognized as a suspect and arrested for 72 hours.
A criminal case was initiated on this matter for traffic of influence.
If found guilty, the policeman is facing a fine of up to 3,000 conventional units or imprisonment up to 5 years.
The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office is conducting this criminal investigation.
