An investigative officer and two prosecution officers from the Straseni Police Inspectorate are facing years  in prison for passive corruption. Two law enforcement officers were detained by NAC, following the searches at their residencies and offices.

According to the information, the three policemen would have extorted and received 1,000 euros from a person to stop prosecution on a file of hooliganism.

At the moment, the operative officer and a criminal prosecution officer were detained for 72 hours. The other investigator has the status of suspect and was released on the grounds that he has a minor in his care.

If they are found guilty of passive corruption, the law people are facing up to 10 years in prison, with a fine of up to 400 thousand lei. Similarly, the suspects will not be able to hold public office for a period of 7 to 10 years.
