Criminal cases for bribe giving have been initiated against two men from the Southern part of the country, after they tried to bribe the policemen. The suspects were driving vehicles in the absence of driving licenses.
One of the individuals, originally from Comrat, was detained after giving 10,000 Russian rubles and 400 lei to the policemen to void documentation of his driving a motorbike without a registration number and without a driving license.
The other suspect, originally from Cahul, attempted to avoid punishment for driving the vehicle in the absence of a driving license, giving law enforcers a thousand lei.
The cases were reported to the NAC by the patrol policemen. Soon, the suspects were detained.
Two criminal investigations for active corruption have been initiated against the two suspects. If found guilty, the men risk up to six years of imprisonment and a fine of up to 200,000 lei.
