The vice-president of Buiucani sector, Vasile Mistreanu, was sentenced to a fine of 60 thousand lei, with the deprivation of the right to hold public office for 3 years. The civil servant received his sentence in a corruption file, after asking an economic agent 20,000 lei to solve a problem related to the installation of a fence.
According to prosecutors, the Deputy received the money to influence public figures in the Buiucani Praetor to authorize the installation of a metal fence to isolate the private property of the economic operator from the public road.
The economic agent paid the Deputy half of the requested amount and then refused to give him the second part of the money. In response, the clerk threatened to create problems and gave instructions to demolish the metal fence.
The defendant did not admit his blame. The sentence may be appealed to the Chisinau Court of Appeal within 15 days.
