Head of Anti-Corruption Prosecution, Viorel Morari, talked about the procedure of extradition of the Moldovan businessman arrested in Kiev, Veaceslav Platon, who was accused of money laundering and racketeering.
Morari said that the extradition procedure is the third stage, notes noi.md.
"Currently, Ukrainian prosecutors are examining the application for extradition of Veaceslav Platon. Subsequently, the application will be referred to the court, which will take a decision in this regard," Morari said.
Platon was detained in Kiev on July 25; he is accused of money laundering and extortion in large proportions. Previously, a court in Kiev placed Platon in custody for a period of 40 days.
