A woman from Moldova, who is internationally wanted, was detained by border guards at the Albita border crossing, writes stirilocale.md.
According to the Romanian border guards, the woman, aged 56, came to cross the border to Romania.
Following some checks, the border guards found that the woman was wanted by the authorities in Portugal, as she has to serve a prison sentence of 6 years, for offenses of passive corruption, embezzlement, collusion and illegal stay in Portugal, forgery of official documents.
The Portuguese authorities have established that the woman founded in Lisbon an international association through which she made invitations to various events for Moldovan citizens who wanted to come and remain in Portugal. Thus, Portuguese investigators have determined that the woman was the coordinator of a migrants trafficking network, which included 28 people.
The woman was referred to an operational team within the Criminal Investigation Service of the Vaslui PI.
