A Romanian citizen was detained with 42 kg of heroin in a hotel in Venice, Italy. The total value of drugs amounts to millions of euros.

The Italian press writes that the individual lived in Spain for a long time. His detention was possible due to an investigationby Italian anti-drug police.

Ilgazzettino.it notes that the drugs were hidden in the luggage of the Romanian, and the law enforcement officials were alerted by a suspicious waitress.

The forbidden substance would come from South Africa and were to be marketed in Italy.

Currently, the Romanian is under arrest and is charged with drug trafficking.
