A woman of 35 years, residing in Cimislia, was arrested on suspicion of a series of scams and thefts in large proportions.
General Inspectorate of Police informs that in 2006, the suspect was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment for committing several robberies in the south of the country.
Meanwhile, the woman has evaded criminal prosecution body by hiding in Transnistria. According to operative information held on time, the woman was returning to the southern districts of the country to trusted people and committing crimes related to scams and theft of animals.
The suspect was detained in Cahul after investigations carried out by officers of the National Investigation Inspectorate of South with the Cimişlia PI and the Information and Security Service.
In this case was initiated a criminal case under Art. RM 186, paragraph 4 of the Penal Code. Under the legislation, the persons found guilty of theft on a large scale shall be punished with imprisonment from 5 to 10 years.
