An incident that smacks of revenge occurred in Balti. On the night of 14 to November 15, unknown individuals set fire to a furniture store, located near the bus station and a car. The incident occurred in the northern capital of the country. Both the store and the car belong to the same person.
At around 3:00 a.m., the owner found her car in flames in the courtyard of the building where she lives. At the same time, she was announced about the fire in the furniture store.
According to the information provided to CrimeMoldova, the victim has recently opened a store on Stefan cel Mare Street and this disgruntled the entrepreneurs in the area. The owners had an argument and the woman was threatened with death, "You will open the store, when I see you dead".
According to our sources, one of the people, who threatened the victim, is her former boss. The sources told us that the shop door was forced and all the furniture was destroyed. The victim was to install surveillance cameras that day.
The press officer of the Service of Civil Protection and Emergencies in Balti said that at 2:42 a.m., the 901 service was warned about smoke coming from the store, located at the address 2 Stefan cel Mare Street. The firefighters found that a furniture store was burning; the fire was liquidated in less than 10 minutes. State supervision inspectors examined the site and presented several versions of the fire, the main version being that of arson. At 2:52, the 901 service received another phone call, announcing about another fire in Alexandru cel Bun Street. A BMW 520 was burning. The firefighters extinguished the fire at 3:12. The fire destroyed the engine section and the lounge of the car. The cause of the fire and the material damage is to be established. The investigation revealed that both the store and the car belong to the same person.
The first attempt to destroy the store was held a few days earlier, on the night of 12 to November 13. Then, the fire was liquidated by the security service and it damaged only the front door.
The case is being investigated by the police.
