A doctor from the Department of General Medicine of the Penitentiary No.16- Pruncul will face court for malpractice. The man is accused of having performed a medical procedure incompetently, resulting in the death of a 27-year-old woman.
According to the prosecutors, the case occurred in October 2017. Having performed the diagnosis procedure, the doctor acted negligently, violating the rules and methods of providing medical assistance, and within two hours, the woman died.
According to the expertise, the prisoner died from an anaphylactic shock, which was an allergic reaction to anesthetic drugs.
The doctor is 43-year-old and has been in the profession since 2010.
If found guilty, he risks up to 3 years of imprisonment with (or without) deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions, or to practice certain activities for a period of 2 to 5 years.
