Thousands of drugs like heroin, marijuana, hashish, hemp, ecstasy and hallucinogenic substances and dozens of criminal groups were seized by police in the operation "Mac" held in June-August.
The press service of the General Police, informs that during the operation were documented 380 criminal cases on drug trafficking and made 481 minutes of offenses. There were found about 800 thousand hemp plant, about 150 thousand poppy plants, 900 of poppy hats and about 10 kg of drugs (hashish, heroin, marijuana). Similarly, were dismantled 14 criminal groups involved in drug trafficking, and conducted 114 searches and arrested 46 people.
The most common types of drugs seized by police, according to the National Investigation Inspectorate are: hemp and poppy plants, heroin, marijuana, amphetamine and ecstasy pills.
Under the Criminal Code, illicit drug production and processing are punishable by up to 15 years of imprisonment depending on the gravity of the crime.
