Denis Zglavoc, accused earlier this year of pimping, escaped punishment, even if his case was in the course of investigation, as the Buiucani District Court decided to discontinue the criminal case against him once the Amnesty Law entered into force. A decision in this respect was issued by the court on October 5.
In accordance with the sentence, in November 2015 - March 2016, being in Chisinau and aiming to encourage prostitution of another person to obtain material benefit, the man committed the crime of pimping, urging two young women to provide online sexual services (Chaturbate) for money.
The man recruited the girls in November 2015. One of them was a 19-year-old resident of Straseni District.
Subsequently, the man rented two apartments in Chisinau (one in Valea Crucii St and another in Hristo Botev St), where the girls were supposed to provide online sexual services under various pseudonyms.
Thus, by his actions, the man was found guilty of pimping with respect to two or more persons, a crime punishable by imprisonment from 4 to 7 years.
In the hearings, the man told the court that one of the girls whom he proposed to provide online sexual services was his concubine. This took place in autumn 2015. In the same period, he contacted through a social network another girl and proposed her to provide similar services and the latter accepted the offer. The man said that he proposed the girls to share the profit in the ratio 40% for him and 60% for the girls.
The apartments and computers used for this purpose were rented and bought by the man; the bankcards used to transfer the money for services were registered into his name.
The business continued until this spring, when one of the girls left him, but continued to carry out the same kind of activities. The man said he did not have any accomplices, he involved only those two girls, one of whom was his partner and was expecting a baby from him.
In the trial, the man fully admitted his guilt, requiring the application of Law no. 210 on amnesty in connection with the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Moldova. The prosecutor agreed to have a simplified procedure, enforcing this law and the court followed this request.
Thus, based on the existing evidence and the man's request, he was found guilty of pimping, risking a term of 4-7 years of imprisonment, but the court decided to discontinue the criminal case in connection with the amnesty act, issued on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Moldova.
The sentence of the Court can be consulted on the institution's webpage.
Recall that since the entry into force of the Law no. 210 only one case of amnesty was made public, so far. It concerns Valeriu Efrim, sentenced on 30 May 2016 for causing injuries while driving a vehicle.
