A patrol police crew rescued a man, freeing him from the trunk of his own car. The man called on the morning of Tuesday, December 6, and told the police that he was in the trunk of his own car of BMW model and most likely was dropped somewhere on the road.
According to the Press Service of the National Patrol Inspectorate (NPI), the man told the officers that some time ago, he was in Peresecina, Orhei, where he had been physically assaulted by some of his acquaintances and forcibly climbed into the trunk.
Subsequently, NPI officers found the car in the village of Romanesti, Straseni. The car was unlocked. The victim that had visible signs of physical aggression and risked suffocation was found in the trunk.
The victim is a 35 year-old resident of Chisinau. Together with five of his acquaintances, he consumed alcoholic beverages in a bar from Peresecina. At a certain point, there arose a conflict between them. As a result of the conflict, young people aged between 20 and 30, inflicted several blows on the victim’s head, climbed him into the trunk and moved into an unknown direction.
So far, four of the five suspects have been arrested and charged with kidnapping and leaving a person in distress. If found guilty, the suspects risk a fine of 27 500 lei or imprisonment from 2 to 10 years.
