Four residents of the village of Puhaceni, Anenii Noi district, aged 25 to 44, risk spending the next years in confinement for the murder and arson of a fellow villager.
One of the individuals is accused of committing an intentional murder and the other three are suspected of favoring the offense.
The Prosecutor's Office of Anenii Noi District completed the prosecution and referred the case to the court. All the four defendants fully admitted their guilt.
A 22-year-old man was killed on September 24, 2017 in the yard of one of the defendants. First, they consumed alcoholic drinks together with the victim, then an argument broke out. At a certain moment, one of the suspects went home and returned with a hand-made knife and inflicted a blow into the victim’s heart. To conceal the crime, the defendants dragged the dead body into the garden and burned it, burying the remnants in several places.
The victim's remnants were detected more than three months after the crime was committed.
Moreover, prior to his detention, the individual who stabbed the victim committed another offense in a bar in Puhaceni. He initiated a conflict with a girl, called her bad names, abused her and struck her with a bottle in the head.
According to the prosecutors, he had been at odds with the law, being previously sentenced to six years of imprisonment for stabbing a person who, fortunately, survived.
If found guilty of intentional murder and aggravated hooliganism, the man risks a prison term of up to 20 years or life imprisonment, and his accomplices - up to 3 years for favoring the crime. Also, they will be obliged to pay the legal expenses of over 8 thousand lei.
