A resident of Cahul District, aged 28, allegedly tried to transmit about 400 grams of cannabis to a detainee of Prison No.5 in Cahul.
The man was detained, due to operating data, while trying to throw the vegetable mass over the prison building.
Later, having searched the suspect's residence, law enforcement officers discovered three bags of green vegetable mass with a specific smell of cannabis.
Additionally, police said they checked a suspicious location, where 157 cannabis plants were grown.
The officers seized the plants for further examination.
A criminal case for "illegal circulation of drugs, ethnobotanics or analogues thereof with no purpose of alienation" was initiated in this respect.
If found guilty, the man faces a fine of up to 700 conventional units or imprisonment of up to 1 year.
