The police detained seven young people who are suspected of robbery, committed in the village Zorile, Orhei district. They are aged between 16 and 24 years old, and are domiciled in Orhei district and Chisinau.
According to a press release of the GPI, on December 8th, a 54-year-old resident of Zorile village Orhei district, alerted police from Orhei, on the fact that she was physically assaulted and stripped of many household goods. The victim said that several people, forced the window and broke into her house. The individuals have hit her after having restrained her on the floor. The perpetrators stole cash in the amount of 2,100 lei, a notebook, a golden wedding ring and other valuables. The material damages caused are estimated at over 10 000 lei.
Following the special investigative measures, on December 15th, 2016 there were established and detained the members of the criminal group. They have proven to be five young people aged between 17 and 24 and two girls of 16 and 18 years old, residents of Orhei district and Chisinau.
As a result of the searches conducted at the residencies of the suspects, there were found and seized more goods stolen from the victim, the notebook and the golden wedding ring were already sold by the suspects.
The young people admitted their guilt partially, two persons were arrested for 30 days, others being investigated at large.
A criminal investigation was initiated on this case, and if convicted, the suspects are facing a jail term of 8-10 years.
