Six young people from Drochia and Rascani districts have been detained for committing thefts of 150,000 lei. The stolen goods were then sent to prison detainees.
The suspects are 18 -23 of age and have been previously tried for similar offenses.
According to the police, in April –May this year, the suspects burgled four shops and a dwelling house in the village of Pelenia, Drochia district. The offenders acted at night by forcing the windows and cutting the locks, then stealing food, cigarettes, alcoholic beverages, money, mobile phones, etc.
Following special investigative measures, the suspects were detained and a large part of the stolen goods, which was intended for inmates, was found in the car.
In the course of investigations, the suspects confessed to the crime. Three of them have been detained for 30 days; the others are investigated at large.
If found guilty, the suspects risk prison terms of 5 to 10 years.
