Four men and two women aged between 19 and 29 will appear before the magistrates. The six are accused of trafficking in human beings and child trafficking, crimes committed for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
The defendants created an organized criminal group and committed a series of offenses, obtaining income from illegal activities. Between 9 and 25 of January 2018, the suspects recruited four girls, three of whom were minors, and housed them in several apartments in Chisinau. Subsequently, they were transported to various places in the capital, where they were forced to provide sexual services to several men.
At the same time, the defendants compelled the girls to offer them the money they obtained from prostitution, applying physical force to them.
From the moment of detention until now, five of the defendants are still under preventive arrest, and the sixth member of the criminal group was recently placed under house arrest.
If they are found guilty, all six are facing up to 20 years of detention and will be forced to recover court costs in the amount of about 20,000 lei.
