The young man detained in the case of the double murder in Soroca district would have killed another 15-year-old who was reported missing in 2012. After the murder, the 22-year-old suspect would have dropped the body in a lake from the same district.
At a press conference, Igor Zglavuţă, the head of the General Police Inspectorate, said that the minor was announced missing in 2012, but the police did not know anything about the place where she was.
"The suspect said she knew the adolescent. She originated from the village of Dumbrăveni in the Soroca district. The young man said that, he was cycling along with the victim. At one point, the minor would have fallen off the bike and would have died. He said he was scared and threw the body of the girl into a lake. After the investigation, the suspect showed the place where he dumped the body in the lake. Following the research, several bones were found in the water, which visibly resembles those of the minor," Zglavuţă said.
The bones found were sent to expertise.
The suspect is from the Soroca district. He is not married and has no children.
The young man is also being investigated for the murder of a 15 year old teen and her 42-year-old mother. Their bodies were found charred in early August in a forest strip near Dumbrăveni village, Soroca district.
The prosecutors will request an arrest warrant tomorrow on the suspect's name. If found guilty, he risks life imprisonment.
