A policeman from Cantemir city, that was an officer in the Road Patrol Service in The Police Inspectorate of the city was condemned for tortures. The prosecutors said in 2014 the policeman went to examine a case of family violence in the Cochiulia village.
There the policeman immobilized the owner of the house and hit him several times, that led to cerebral commotion. Later the victim filled a complaint against the policeman. A criminal case over abuse was commenced immediately.
For the violations the policeman has to pay a fine of 17 thousand lei and can’t hold public positions for 3 years. Moreover, the policeman has to pay the victim 22 thousand lei for non-pecuniary damage.
