Three members of an organized criminal group have been detained for committing a burglary.
According to the prosecutors, in July this year, by order of a young man from Balti, detained in Prison No. 2 Lipcani, the members of a criminal group went to Singerei, where, wearing masks, they broke into the house of a woman. Subsequently, they threatened the victim with the gun and stole goods, estimated at about 11 thousand lei.
The woman, aged 20, resident of Slobozia Magura, Singerei, told the police that two people, wearing masks entered the house and threatened her with an object like a gun. Subsequently, pinning her legs with duct tape, they stole the wedding ring from her finger and her mobile phone.
On 1 December, the suspects were identified and detained, being escorted to the police inspectorate for hearings, where they acknowledged their fault. The defendants are 21 and 25 years old. They are in custody now; the organizer of the group was previously convicted for similar offenses.
Following the searches, conducted at the homes of the suspects and in the prison, where the third suspect is held, they police officers found the stolen goods and mobile phones.
The main specialist of the Department of Public Relations of the General Prosecutor’s Office, Eugeniu Rosca, said that if convicted, the suspects face up to 12 years of imprisonment.
