Three citizens of the Republic of Moldova, detained on the territory of Ukraine, were extradited to our country in early June. The suspects are being investigated for pimping and illegal crossing of the state border.
One of the suspects, aged 30, is charged with pimping. He has been prosecuted since 2016. Following the negotiations with the law enforcement institutions of the neighboring country, the Moldovan was detained and extradited through the Palanca crossing point. The individual was handed over to the competent authorities and placed in provisional detention, risking a fine of up to 67,500 lei, or a prison sentence of 2 to 5 years for the committed offense.
Similarly, two juveniles from the Republic of Moldova, aged 16 and 17, were extradited from Ukraine. The two had stolen large amounts of goods from a dwelling in the town of Stefan Voda, after which, they illegally crossed the state border and hid in Ukraine.
The adolescents, who originated from the Stefan Voda district, were detained in the neighboring country and extradited through the Tudora crossing point. At present, the young people are investigated without being detained.
