Two Moldovans, aged 25 and 42, were detained for anabolic smuggling. The pills were found by the customs officers of Cahul, in the suspects car, as they tried to take them out of the country.
According to the Customs Service, detention took place on Wednesday night, at about 1:45 am, as part of additional checks.
Following the additional checks, the customs officers identified 17,300 tablets and over 1,800 ampoules with anabolic substance, of indigenous production, 13,500 self-adhesive labels, 1,300 pharmaceutical packing boxes, 2,200 can covers for containers, and a laboratory kit.
The suspects were detained for a period of 72 hours.
A criminal case was filed on behalf of the two. If they are found guilty, the suspects risk up to 10 years in prison.
