For the presidential elections of 30 October 2016, the government ordered the opening of 100 polling stations abroad.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration announced that the polling stations will be opened in the premises of the diplomatic missions buildings, but also additional ones.

"The number of polling stations was established following an extensive analysis and proposals of diplomatic missions, zonal distribution of Moldovans and the number of people registered beforehand.

Thus is proposed to open 100 polling stations abroad, 40 - within the diplomatic missions and 60 - additional "said Deputy Andrei Galbur, quoted by agora.md.

Galbur also said that in Romania will be opened 11 polling stations, and in Russia - three sections more than in parliamentary elections.
