Ex-Prime Minister of Moldova, Iurie Leanca has been appointed by the National Council of the European People's Party of Moldova as a candidate for head of the state of this party.

Leanca said that Moldova wants to apply for accession to the European Union, and the future president should continue the European path.

Former prime minister announced that today will be registered the initiative group to collect signatures in support of his candidacy.

We remind that Iurie Leanca was prime minister of Moldova in the period May 2013 - December 2014 ( to February 2015). He was part of Liberal Democratic Party team, from which he subsequently withdrawn, establishing the European People's Party of Moldova. Currently, he is a Member of the Parliament from his formations and recently the party has concluded a partnership agreement with the ruling coalition (PD, PL and former communists).
