The CEC voted unanimously on Andrei Nastase's withdrawal from the election of 30 October. This occurred following the request that the DTPP leader filed to the CEC demanding his withdrawal.

The election Commission asked Nastase to submit, within 24 hours, a report on financial accruals and expenses incurred during the campaign.

Recall that on 15 October, the National Political Council of the Dignity and Truth Platform Party decided to withdraw Andrei Nastase’s candidacy in favor of Maia Sandu, who is the joint candidate of the LDP, ASP and DTPP.

Nastase said then, "When you come into politics, you must assume some risks and some decisions, I pondered much on this. I saw the reality and together with the Dignity and Truth Platform, we decided to join our forces to do what's best for the country. We decided that ASP is a reliable partner and it can support us."

11 candidates are continuing the battle for the office of the President.
