Promo-LEX Association found several violations in the conduct of presidential run-off, held Sunday, November 13. Statements in this respect were made by Pavel Postica, head of Promo-LEX observer mission.
Postica reported five cases where observers were not given free access to polling stations. "Electoral advertisements placed within 100 meters from the polling stations were revealed in 60 cases, in such places as Chisinau, Calarasi, Ungheni, Causeni, Ialoveni and Floresti".
We have also certified at least three cases of electoral agitation and attack ads. Similarly, there were four cases of organized transportation of voters, all in the Transnistrian region.
The Head of Promo-LEX observer mission noted that a case of voter intimidation was registered. "There were a few minor cases, when the activities of the State Registry of Voters were temporally suspended and some shortcomings in the voter lists, such as presence of deceased persons on the list," Postica said.
Promo-LEX observers reported five cases where it was difficult to unseal the ballot boxes. Similarly, 85 polling stations in the country opened 15 minutes later that stipulated by the law. At the same time, they also established temporary suspension of electricity supply due to bad weather.
In the second round of the presidential election, Promo-LEX has accredited 2,000 national and 40 foreign observers.
