19 out of 28 customs officers detained previously for passive corruption, were arrested, 5 will spend the next period under house arrest, and 4 customs officers are placed under judicial control.
The decisions were taken by Buiucani Court magistrates.
Customs officers will stay in custody for a period of 15 to 30 days. Prosecutors say that some even cooperated with the investigation and told how they operated schemes by taking money from drivers.
We remind that the anticorruption prosecutors and NAC officers raided Friday the customs points of Tudora and Palanca, and 28 customs officers were detained in a passive corruption case.
