A few days ago, the Transnistrian station TSV presented a report about a new crisis in Transnistria - the fuel one. According to the report of this TV station Sherriff fuel stations of the region no longer sold diesel, while the petrol reserve was enough only for a few days. Moldova and Ukraine were accused of this "crisis", as these countries would have blocked the transport of fuel in Transnistria.

Regarding this issue the web site deschide.md  writes that the crisis would be an artificial one, because the data of the region's customs service contradicts the information provided by Sheriff Group and the Transnistrian executive body. Thus, on 19th July, 2016 the State Customs Committee of Transnistria issued a statement in which it presented several data, which deny the existence of an oil crisis in the Transnistrian region.

According to the source, on July 21 there was held an extraordinary meeting of the representatives of customs services of Moldova and the Transnistrian side on the resumption of imports of fuels from the direction of Ukraine and Belarus. The Transnistrian side stated that the meeting had taken place at their initiative and that Chisinau would have submitted certain conditions for the resumption of oil imports, according to which the Transnistrian importers will receive permits allowing the import of petroleum products on the Transnistrian segment of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. The agreements reached by the two sides are to be reviewed.

Sources at the Ukrainian Embassy in Moldova told deschide.md that the alleged fuel crisis is in favor of Sheriff, who is preparing for the presidential elections of the unrecognized republic and the official position of Kiev is forthcoming.

The Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament, Andrian Candu, said yesterday that neither Moldova nor Ukraine has blocked oil transportation in Transnistria.

The same was confirmed to deschide.md by the First Deputy Minister for Reintegration, Gheorghe Balan, who noted that the information about a possible fuel crisis in Transnistria are speculations.
