Over 2500 liters of ethylic alcohol of 300 thousand lei value, were confiscated by employees of the National Inspectorate of Investigation in the Northern side of the country.

The alcohol belonged to a group of people specializing in the manufacture and marketing of ethylic alcohol and alcoholic products.

The criminal activity of the group was documented for 2 months and recently, a means of transport was stopped at the entry to Balti city, carrying more than 2 500 liters of ethylic alcohol. A 20-year-old young man from the village Unguri, Ocnița district, was behind the wheel. Another 20-year-old young man from the village Vălcineț, Ocnița district was in the car, on the passenger street.

The liquid transported by the two young men was bottled in plastic containers with a capacity of 20, 25 and 30 liters each, hidden under cardboard boxes.

The people involved in the adulteration of alcohol beverages and illegal alcohol marketing, were searched by the police. Another 5 searches were carried out by the police on the territory of Balti city. As a result, the police found out the and confiscated 120 liters of ethylic alcohol with a total value of 14 thousand lei, “Kvint” caps, polyethylene bottle caps "Calarasi Divin" and “Barza Alba”, some other caps without a name, empty bottle of 0.5 liters with the inscription “Călărași” and “Kvint”. All these things were found at the department of production and bottling of alcoholic beverages from the northern capital of the country, which was run by a 35-year-old man.

In both cases, the suspects were selling alcohol on the territory of Balti, and at the police’s request, the suspects did not show any act that would confirm the legal origin and proof of alcohol provenience.

Two criminal cases were initiated on this matter, for "transport, storage or sale of excisable goods without marking them with control stamps or excise stamps." Offences of this kind are punishable according to the law, with a fine from 25 000 to 50 000 lei.

At the moment, special investigative measures are carried out, to identify other persons involved in this scheme.
