The anticorruption officers and prosecutors are carrying out this morning more searches at the customs station Sculeni, at some addresses from Ungheni, but also in Chisinau. The searches are a parts of the criminal investigation in a case regarding the illicit activities of several customs employees.
2:25 p.m. The Customs Service was involved itself in the searches carried out by the NAC officers and prosecutors, at the customs station Sculeni and at Ungheni Customs Office, and ordered a service investigation.
The General Director of the Customs Service, Vitalie Vrabie has ordered the recall of all the customs officers on leave to be present back, within 24 hours, in connection to the establishments concerned.
11.38 a.m. Six other people were detained up to this moment, by the NAC and anticorruption prosecutors, in a case targeting corruption actions committed by the employees of the customs post Sculeni and of the Ungheni Customs Office.
Among those detained are two heads of the shift in the Sculeni customs post, and and 4 customs officers.
Please note that this morning, four people were detained following the decisions of the NAC and the anti-corruption prosecutors. A total of 10 customs officers are detained for 72 hours, being suspected of corruption actions.
The investigation continues with more searches at multiple addresses.

1. The head of the Ungheni Customs Office
2. The deputy chief of Ungheni Customs Bureau
3. A shift manager at Sculeni customs post
4. A customs inspector
The investigation continues with more searches at multiple addresses. We would like to note that Sculeni customs post is already open and operating as normal.
9:35 According to the head of the National Anti-Corruption Center Press Service, Angela Starinschi, the actions carried out by the anti-corruption prosecutors and officers are held in a corruption case, aimed at the illicit activities of some customs employees. The Customs Service was involved in the searches itself, and ordered a service investigation.
Please note that in early November of this year, the prosecutors raided the Sculeni and Leuşeni checkpoints. 30 people were detained then, including 14 customs officers, 3 border guards, 6 economic operators and 7 drivers. The raids and arrests were also in connection to a corruption case.
