A resident of Chisinau, aged 17, was detained by police and subsequently arrested for 30 days for livestreaming on a social network how he, together with a friend, consumed drugs.
In the course of investigations, police determined the address where the two persons had consumed drugs, demonstrating directly that they had large amounts of different types of drugs. They were in an apartment in Rascani District of Chisinau, rented by the teenager.
Subsequently, following the searches carried out in the house, the police found only the minor person. Large amounts of drugs were seized. The police sealed 20 packages of crumbled vegetable mass similar to marijuana, pills with psychotropic effect, 16 polyethylene sachets with various unknown substances, foil packets with solid substance, electronic scales and financial means, allegedly obtained from drug dealing.
Police officers arrested only the 17-year-old person, since the second suspect was not in the apartment, when police raided with authorized searches.
Chisinau Police press officer, Adrian Jovmir, said that the young man was born in Chisinau and he used to live with his grandmother, but later rented an apartment. "From what we know, his parents were abroad and did not keep in touch with the child," Jovmir said.
Extensive investigative measures have been undertaken to identify and detain the second suspect as well as to identify the origin of the drugs detected.
A criminal case was initiated for illegal circulation of drugs in especially large proportions. Suspects can be punished by imprisonment for a term of 7 to 15 years.
