Today's hearing of the Buiucani District Court that was supposed to examine Ilan Shor's case was delayed because his lawyers asked for time to submit the list of witnesses.

Court session was again accompanied by a protest by supporters of the mayor of Orhei.

Lawyers also said that there is no cause for Shor to be held in custody and call for a non-custodial sentence. They said they have filed court two approaches: the granting of time to get acquainted with the materials of the case, which according to lawyers are quite bulky and revoke of the arrest and the application of a non-custodial one.

At the same time, Shor's lawyers refused to provide details about witnesses, because this would violate the procedure.

The next hearing in this case will take place on September 19. We remind that prosecutors demand 15 years in prison for the Mayor of Orhei.
