Two young men from the village of Radeni, Straseni District, members of a criminal group, were detained yesterday, 22 November 2016, on suspicions of storage and dealing of narcotics in the district.
The officers of Police Inspectorate of Straseni, who had surveilled the unlawful activities of the gang for more than two months, arrested the young men, aged 18 and 20 years. During this period, the officials gathered conclusive evidence that proves their complicity.
Following the searches at the suspects' homes, police seized 49 hemp plants and four packages, containing green plant mass with a specific smell.
The value of the drugs is about 10 000 lei.
A criminal case on "Illegal circulation of drugs, ethnobotanics, or analogues thereof for the purpose of alienation" has been initiated in this respect.
If found guilty of committing this offense, the young men risk a prison term of 7-15 years.
