Head of Anti-Corruption Prosecutor, Viorel Morari provided in a press briefing today some details of the operation on retention of judges.

According to him, searches were carried out in several courts in the country, but also in the homes of judges. Morari said that 20 people were targeted: 16 judges and 4 executors of whom were detained 15 judges and three bailiffs.

Neither in the briefing were offered details on the identities of those detained, the chief prosecutor, noting that the prosecution could continue tomorrow.

Also Morari confirmed that the prosecution was initiated with the consent of the Superior Council of Magistracy.

Sergei Popovici - President of Courthouse Comrat

Ghenadie Barnaz - Rascani District Court Magistrate

Valeriu Gasca - Rascani District Court Judge

Sergei Gubenсo - Comrat Court

Sergei Lebediuc - Military Court

Mihai Moraru - Ungheni Court

Aurica Us - Former Magistrate of Economic Court

George Marchitan - Căuşeni District Court Magistrate

Gheorghe Gorun - Former judge of the Rascani District Court of the capital

Igor Vornicescu - was detained in Chisinau International Airport, where he was trying to flee abroad, and Victor Orândaş - who is also in the file, but his arrest was not possible because he is not in the country.

NAC press officer, Angela Starinschi communicated that the detainees are in the NAC insulator.
