The seat of the MP, vacated following the appointment of Iurie Leanca as Deputy Prime Minister for European Reintegration, will be taken over by the liberal democrat Sergiu Ceaus.
Ceaus was the alternate candidate on the list of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova. Iurie Leanca used to be part of it.
In this respect, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) will propose to the Constitutional Court to validate the MP mandate into the name of Ceaus.
In the past, Sergiu Ceaus held several public positions within the Government, the National Bank and the Chisinau Municipal Council. He was also vice-president of Criuleni District.
According to the latest income and property declarations, the future deputy does not have any real estate or movable assets and has contracted 2 credits of 50,000 lei, which expire this year.
His wife heads the Ministry of Finance.
Ceaus is a member of the LDPM since 2007.
