Alexei Sharkanda, a Russian "peacemaker", has been arrested on May 12 at Chisinau International Airport and has been the subject to special checks. He was heading to the Russian Federation after completing his peacekeeping mission in the Transnistrian region.

According to novostipmr.com, the Russian military had undergone a thorough control and hearing, following which, the awards given by the self-proclaimed Transnistrian Republic were raised, as well as a commemorative medal. The source also writes that the items were raised without a record.

The military was heard on subjects not related to his departure from Moldova, but regarding the officers who were engaged in military action.

Please note that there was no release on the official ISS, Border Police or Customs Service website. We will try tomorrow to confirm the information at these institutions and will come back with details.
