Although information about Plahotniuc's departure to the United States has been going on for days, the Democratic Party of Moldova has just confirmed on May 18, in a press release, that party leader Vlad Plahotniuc is on a working visit to the United States of America.

Plahotniuc is due to have meetings with the representatives of the US Congress, the State Department, the White House National Security Council, and other institutions.

According to Infotag, the visit was organized by PR companies, hired by the DPM to promote the party. One of them is Podesta Group (USA), the DPM signed a contract with it in the middle of the last year. The party pays the company $ 150,000 per quarter.
