The court of Moscow has recognized as legal the arrest warrant, issued in early December into the name of the Democratic Party leader, Vlad Plahotniuc. Plahotniuc is suspected of committing several serious crimes on grounds of ethnic, political and ideological hatred.
According to ria.ru, the court of Moscow, which examines the appeals, has retained Basman's decision to issue an arrest warrant into Plahotniuc's name in his absence and to announce him wanted.
On December 26, the INTERPOL, an International Criminal Police Organization based in Lyon, declined Russia's request for international search of the Democrat leader claiming it is based on political reasons.
DPM representatives then classified the information as attacks on their leader's political activity.
