Buiucani Court meeting that was supposed to examine the prosecution's request to extend for 30 days the arrest warrant on the name of Veaceslav Platon was postponed. Prosecutors said that lawyers have cited several circumstances, but these have not been specified.
On entry into the court door, Platon shouted in Russian: "All the money were stolen by Plahotniuc" .He also told the journalists that he was extradited absolutely illegal and that he is innocent.
Platon's extradition was much disputed by Moldovan prosecutors and lawyers of the businessman. However, Platon was extradited yesterday in Moldova, even if his previous lawyer, Gleb Seghida mentioned that this is not possible. The current attorney of Platon, Ilya Novikov, also defender of Nadejda Savcenco, predicted the extradition of the businessman, a fact noted by a facebook post, emphasizing that this is possible only if Ukraine does not recognize him as its citizen.
We remind that Veaceslav Platon is being investigated for extortion and money laundering in especially large amounts, and damaging Banca de Economii with over MDL 800 million. Prosecutors concluded that the money obtained by fraud in the form of loans, were transferred to the accounts of several offshore companies, and later, some of it was used to settle loans to banks in Moldova.
