Ion Diacov informed the Parliament in an open letter that the interim prosecutor can become a way to total degradation of the prosecutor’s office. Moreover, «the interim person will certainly create backgrounds for incertitude, distrust and the decrease of discipline».
After a strong argumentation Diacov affirmed that «the democratic procedure of the prosecutor’s election in a «captured» state allows those who take decisions falsify the results of election».
In the end of the letter Diacov appealed to the Speaker of the Parliament. He asked him to use the old law and elect the candidate for the General Prosecutor and suggest him at plenary session of the Parliament. Diacov suggested a candidate– Eduard Harunjen, which, as to Diacov, is a highly competent, disciplined and with a huge experience prosecutor.
