One of the last hearings in Filat case is set to be held at 12:00 at Buiucani Court, Chisinau.
The former premier, who was in custody, will say his last word, after which the judges will pronounce the sentence.
As stated by Adriana Betisor, the prosecutor investigating the case of the former LDPM leader, today Filat will have the possibility to speak for the last time in this process.
In his last speech from the tribune of the Parliament, the Liberal-Democrat has promised to make disclosures that will make the Moldovan political system "blow up" but in the nearly nine months of detention, Filat did not make any statement or revelation on this subject, the former LDPM party member only reiterated on his Facebook page what he had said earlier in the Parliament.
Vlad Filat is accused by prosecutors of passive corruption and influence peddling. The prosecution body asked the court to sentence Filat to a punishment of 19 years of imprisonment with the confiscation of the property acquired illicitly and the deprivation of the right to occupy responsible positions for a period of 5 years.
Filat was arrested by the anti-corruption prosecutors on 15 October last year, as soon as the Parliament withdrew his MP immunity.
