Center District Court of Chisinau, postponed to Thursday, October 6, the hearing of corruption charges against the former vice mayor of Chisinau Vlad Cotet and deputy chief architect of Chsinau, Radu Blaj.

The reason of postponement was the absence of one of the defendants' lawyers.

Vlad Cotet and Radu Blaj were detained in late May, being suspected of passive corruption, abuse of power and forgery of public documents. At that time, three other people were detained: an employee of the State Construction Inspection, and two intermediaries. Prosecutors accuse them of issuing construction permits in exchange of bribes.

In total, seven persons are accused.

Vlad Cotet is under preventive arrest, while Radu Blaj is under judicial control, being able to continue to exercise his official duties.
